Unicode letters, not fonts

People often call these Instagram fonts, but they are not fonts. Most styles swap the letters A to Z and a to z for Unicode characters, many of them made for math formulas. The strikethrough and underline styles keep your letters and add a line through or under each one. Numbers change only in the styles that have them, such as bold and monospace. The squared and filled-circle styles have capitals only, so they show every letter as a capital. Spaces, emoji and letters like č, š or ü are never swapped, and punctuation is swapped only in the wide style.

Where you can paste it

The result is ordinary text, not formatting, so it pastes into most places that accept text: Instagram bios and captions, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, YouTube titles and email subject lines. Usernames and handles are the exception, since they accept only plain characters. How the letters look depends on each reader's device and app, and an older device may show some of them as empty boxes. Check a styled line on a second device before it goes out.

Use it for highlights, not whole posts

Screen readers do not treat these characters as normal words. Depending on the screen reader, a styled word is spelled out letter by letter or skipped entirely, so a fully styled caption can be lost on someone who listens rather than reads. Style one word or a short line, such as a name or a headline, and keep dates, prices, hashtags, @mentions and links in plain letters. The message should still make sense without the styled part.

Pair styled words with emoji

Every style leaves emoji untouched, so styled words and emoji can share a line. Find emoji in the emoji picker, or start from a ready set such as the aesthetic emoji kits for bios or the marketing emoji kits for captions. Paste them into the text box above, next to your words, then copy the style you like. Need several? Switch to Build Kit on the picker, collect them in My Kit and copy the whole set at once.

Fancy text questions

Are these real fonts?

No. A caption or bio cannot carry a font, so these are separate Unicode characters that only look like styled letters. The look is built into the characters themselves, which is why it survives copy and paste.

Why do some letters stay the same?

Unicode has styled versions of the plain letters A to Z and a to z, but only some styles include the digits 0 to 9. Accented letters such as č, š, ž or ü have no styled versions, so they stay as typed instead of being swapped for a lookalike. Spaces and emoji are never changed, and punctuation is swapped only in the wide style.

Will it work on Instagram?

Usually, yes. Your display name, bio, captions and comments accept these characters as ordinary text, but your @username only takes plain letters, numbers, periods and underscores. Each follower sees the letters drawn by their own phone, and an older phone may show some of them as boxes.

Does the site store my text?

No. What you type stays in this browser tab: it is not sent anywhere and, unlike My Kit, it is not saved in your browser either. It goes to your clipboard only when you choose to copy a style.
